People think when they retire life will be easier.
I've got news for you! Life will be pretty much the same in the long run, except for possibly income. It is what we make it.
Some of us make it harried and crazy. Others roll with the punches. Some just do what needs doing and some are bored.
People who retire volunteer to help others, or take up writing, or learn a new game, The most successful people continue to do something and how hard they pursue that something determines how their life goes.
If you are an over achiever you will continue to find ways to be that. You may obsess over lawn work, or house cleaning, or your volunteer job, or some hobby like golf or piano playing.
If you are someone who prefers plodding along doing only what is required of you, you will probably continue to plod.
If you are just a run of the mill ordinary person you will eventually find your place among the nonsalaried folks and discover there is a whole world out there that needs you. In rustic societies people did not retire, they simply switched over to different jobs. They rocked the babies, peeled the potatoes, knit more socks, cut more wood, repaired more creaks in the floor or called the cows home.
Most of us find our own level if we just give ourselves a little time and are honestly seeking it. You will most likely be just as successful at retirement as you are at other things.
