Being invited to a Clue Dinner party was exciting.
I arrived dressed in black silk and wearing ivory Geisha earrings along with an antique cameo that belonged to my mother. In the way of older ladies I wore rings on as many fingers as I could fit.
The others arrived too. In shades of mustard and plum, scarlet and greens, a motley mix of professors and officers and other esteemable gentry.
We sat down to a dinner of beefly stew and mixed up wines with which I toasted our health.
Little did I know that I, Mrs. Body, was soon to be in the poorest of health!
We ate our dinner and repaired to the parlor where lively conversation was rudely halted by total darkness and during that brief respite I threw myself into the role of "The BODY!"
They discovered me and covered me with a white sheet befitting my corpse as I watched them flit around the house blaming each other and making accusations. It was quite amusing to watch from my lofty place above them.
Then, finally, someone said, it was Miss Scarlet, with the poison!
And I watched in horror as the ambulance arrived and hauled my body out.
Followed by the police who hauled out everyone else.
Leaving me stranded in an empty house!
