Connections

"Where are you from?"

"Chicago."

"My cousin lives there, maybe you know him."

People are always trying to make connections.

Between people, from the past, even from some little idiosyncrasy that is almost obscure.

Like dogs in the park we sniff around each others lives trying to figure out why the other one is here -- or there.

And often that is our only connection.
